| Well, here we are! Newly weds and new to the blogging world. Before I even get into the fiasco of our wedding let's rewind to me and Eric's very first date. My cousin Thomas knew Eric and set us up on a blind date in October. I was nervous so I spent a good two hours or more getting ready. Finally I was ready to meet my date. I went downstairs and met Eric in the lobby of the dorms. My first instinct was "Oh he is pretty cute, this could be fun!" Little did I know how extremely SHY he was. He hardly talked to me. To avoid those awkward silences, me being the big mouth I am, talked the entire time. I'm sure he was hoping I would just shut up. Finally he decided to take me back home. We said our "goodbyes" and our "nice to meet you's" and went our separate ways.
Over the next few days we texted each other here and there and then soon stopped talking altogether. A month or two had passed and we ran into each other on campus. Later that night I decided to text him and ask him out on a second date seeming as how he hadn't yet. So I asked him if he wanted to go out to ice cream. .........No text back........Still no text back........Nothing......... he had ignored me! How embarrassing. I knew right then that he had another girlfriend. I hoped beyond hope that I would never run into him ever again after asking him out even though he had a girlfriend!
As the months passed by my bruised ego healed. It healed enough that when he texted me in May I texted him back. We had some casual conversations that soon turned into all-day texting which then turned into conversations over the phone that lasted for hours. Then being the brave idiot I am, I invited him to go camping with my family and some of our friends. I prepared myself for being ignored again, but to my surprise he said yes!! So he drove all the way from Evanston to Gillette to go camping with a bunch of people he didn't even know.
The camp trip turned out to be a success. Everyone loved Eric. After we got home and unpacked Eric and I were sitting on my couch watching some t.v. when he started to ask me a question but then stopped. I turned and looked at him and he was completely red!! I kept pestering him to ask me what he was going to ask me (because I knew what he was trying to ask me :) He would start asking and then say oh never mind. HA it was so funny and cute. But finally he spit the words out, "So what would you consider us?" I sheepishly asked, "What do you mean?" and he said "Like are we friends, or boyfriend girlfriend or what?" I made him squirm for a bit before I finally told him "Well I would consider us together!" I think his cute red face smiled for the rest of the night.
And that was the start of our relationship!!!!! |
